Shot while one of the biggest rain storms in 30 years moved in over the city.

Shot with a ND-400 (9-stop) and ND-8 filter to get a 155 second exposure.

Bumped contrast in CS3... Hue is as shot.

Enjoy.

Awesome use of the ND filters ... :+fav:
Awesome perspective, great dynamism. I think I will be buying the B+W ND1000 myself.
great shot, i love the colours and composition :)

Still searching for the final theory, about our fate...
Destiny, the dark energy
i haven't seen the ND1000, how many stops is it? they are a little hassle cause you can't see through the lens to compose the shot if its in... you have to first compose and focus and then put the filters on.. but its worth it.
this stuff is possible with any moderate DSLR but noise on super long exposures can be a pretty serious issue.
thanks! this is the skyline of New York City.
I really need to buy myself some ND filters. What stops to you recommend getting first? I also need some ND Grad filters...
I've been waiting until I buy a high quality wide angle lens to get the fliters, as that's what they will be attached to most I expect.

This is an awesome shot...it gives off an aura of power due to the way the clouds appear.
Great work.
yes I have seen some totally unique shots taken with these filters. They calm seas and move clouds. I dont know how many stop it is off hand though the 1000 refers to x^stops if you see what I mean. I think it is 2^stops so that an ND8 = 2^3 so 1000 would be....!
